LPA - Live Performance
Australia
Live Performance Australia (LPA) is the peak body for Australia’s live entertainment and performing arts industry. Established in 1917 and registered as an employers’ organisation under the Workplace Relations Act 1996, LPA’s activities centre around three core areas:
• Workplace Relations
• Policy & Strategy
• Membership Services & Events
Our members work in the live performance sector across all artistic genres, including contemporary and classical music, musicals, theatre, comedy, dance, opera, circus and physical theatre. We represent producers, venues, promoters, performing arts companies, festivals and industry suppliers such as ticketing companies and technical specialists.
LPA also services the cinema and exhibition industries.
LPA is the trading name of the Australian Entertainment Industry Association (AEIA).

SA Great - Independent Incorporated Association
SA Great is not-for-profit memberships based organisation, committed to inspire South Australians to be proud of their state, pursue their aspirations and share their achievements so as to influence the future prosperity of the state.
What does SA Great do?
- Facilitate programs and initiatives to promote South Australian successes; local individuals and organisations making a real contribution to the growth and identity of our state.
- Run media campaigns and activities to increase awareness of our state’s successes.
- Conduct award programs to recognize businesses, organisations and individuals who have made a significant contribution to our state.
- Offer an exciting members program that showcases initiatives and provides a forum to network and share ideas.
SA Great’s strategic intent is to create a fantastic impression of South Australia by demonstrating business capability, highlighting industry development and growing state confidence, resulting in an increase in business investment and talent within our state.
SA Great is an independent Incorporated Association.

AICSA - Arts Industry Council of South Australia (AICSA)
The Arts Industry Council SA is the independent voice for the arts in South Australia. Established in 1991, AICSA is the peak industry body that represents all art forms and sectors. The council derives support from the industry through member subscriptions, fundraising activities, sponsorships, and in-kind donations.
AICSA is an organization of over a hundred of the state’s arts and cultural groups and independent artists. The council is aimed at helping create a more dynamic and fertile environment for the development of the arts industry.
COMMUNICATE
- We circulate reliable, up-to-date information about state and federal arts budget, policy issues and other matters affecting the arts in South Australia.
- We meet regularly with Arts SA’s Executive Director as well as ministerial advisers to ensure effective communication between the arts sector and government.
- We take delegations to government ministers and other key decision-makers to let them know the views and concerns of the arts sector and what we want them to do in response.
EDUCATE
- We generate and circulate issues papers providing background and detail on current matters of concern to the arts sector.
- We are a key contact for arts journalists, and are regularly asked for background information on arts issues.
- We maintain national and international networks with allied arts information agencies.
AGITATE
- We mount lobby and advocacy campaigns and provide materials to AIC members to help them speak out.
- We host public forums and discussion nights to pass on and gather the views of the arts sector and identify actions.

APACA - Australian Performing Arts Centres Association
The Australian Performing Arts Centres Association (APACA) is the national peak body representing and supporting performing arts centres from the Sydney Opera House to Matt Dann Cultural Centre in Australia’s North West.
APACA plays a vital role in influencing Australian cultural policy since its erection in 1987. The association envisions all Australian communities to actively engage in enriching performing arts experiences facilitated by their performing arts centres.
As a national advocacy network, the Australian Performing Arts Centres Association will:
- Provide leadership for the development of performing arts organizations to be outstanding professional presenters and facilitators.
- Advocate for the proper resourcing of performing arts and in particular for presenters, facilitators, and venues for all Australian communities.
The main objectives of APACA are as follows:
- To assist in the presentation of the performing arts by its members
- To facilitate the bringing together of artists and audiences
- To foster ethical standards and effective business practices in the performing arts centre operation, presentation and management
- To assist in the professional development of personnel involved in the operation of performing arts centres and in the presentation and management of performing arts centres
- To influence public policy and public opinion to advance the interest of its members
- To assist in the promotion of activities which will enable members to develop audiences and the performing arts activity in their own communities
- To develop and/or disseminate and exchange information on the management of performing arts centres and the presentation of the performing arts including music, dance, theatre, film, lectures, and other related programs.
- To promote the freedom of artistic expression and the pursuit of excellence within the performing arts
- To encourage cultural and aesthetic diversity within the performing arts
- To extend the performing arts marketplace and stimulate the integration of the performing arts into the fabric of society
APACA has set a clear strategic direction for 2009 - 2014. The association will encourage and promote excellence in the presentation of performing arts across Australia. APACA is also directed towards effectively maintaining and developing the association’s network in collaboration with state-based presenter organizations. The Australian Performing Arts Centres Association will position itself as a peak national body for performing arts presenters and will align the organization with key national partners. APACA will provide valued services to a growing membership.

AAPPAC - Association of Asia Pacific Performing Arts Centres
Business Council Member
Inaugurated in Singapore on 19 June 2004, The Association of Asian Performing Arts Festivals (AAPAF) aims to recognise the growth of arts festivals in the Asian region; identify the potential advantages a regional festival network offers in co-sharing, commissioning, touring works, spin-offs in joint marketing efforts; providing a platform to connect with other networks and to access funding beyond the region. The Founding Festival Members are the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, the Singapore Arts Festival, the Hong Kong Arts Festival, and the Jakarta International Arts Festival (JakArt).

ISPA - International Society for Performing Arts
ISPA is a not-for-profit international organization (founded 1949) of over 600 executives and directors of concert and performance halls, festivals, performing companies, and artist competitions; government cultural officials; artists' managers; and other interested parties with a professional involvement in the performing arts from more than 50 countries in every region of the world, and in every arts discipline.
The purpose of ISPA is to develop, nurture, energize and educate an international network of arts leaders and professionals who are dedicated to advancing the field of the performing arts.

ACBC - Australia China Business Council
The present day Australia China Business Council was officially launched in Canberra on 19 November 1996 by the then Minister for Trade, Tim Fischer.
The new organisation was the outcome of a merger between the old Australia China Business Council and the Australia-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (ACCI). These were the two principal Australia-China business organisations formed in 1973 and 1974 respectively, after the normalization of relations between Australia and China.
The creation of a single business organisation dedicated to promoting business & trade between the two countries, highlighted the growing importance being attached to the economic aspect of Australia's overall relationship with the People's Republic of China. Today business and trade has become the single most important side of the Australia - China relationship.
The Australia China Business Council (ACBC) is the premier business organisation in Australia for the promotion of commercial relationships with China. The Council operates out of strong autonomous branches in NSW, VIC, QLD, SA and WA.
The main objectives of the Australia China Business Council are as follows:
- To provide information programs and opportunities for the Australian business community to network on China business activities with their peers;
- To host events with senior contacts with the Australian and Chinese Governments;
- To represent members views to Australian and Chinese policy makers and act as a conduit between governments and the Australian business community;
- To support the promotion of Australia's commercial interests in China;
- To develop and maintain a high level of support for the Council's activities from the respective governments and collaborate in relevant government-initiated programs;
- To promote business education programs on how to do business in China;
- To encourage social and cultural exchanges between Australia and China.

APAP - Association of Performing Arts Presenters
With over forty years as an active arts service organization, the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (Arts Presenters) is the nexus for the performing arts community and the innovators in the field.
Representing both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors of the industry, Arts Presenters members hail from all 50 states and more than 15 countries across the globe and range from large performing arts centers in major urban cities, outdoor festivals and rural community-focused organizations to academic institutions, artists and artist managers. Our membership includes organizations with multi-million dollar budgets and individuals who are performing arts professionals.
Members bring performances to over 2 million audience-goers each week. No other association membership rivals the breadth of creative expression, representing disciplines ranging from all forms of dance, music, theater and family programming to puppetry, circus, magic, attractions and performance art.

SAMAG - Sydney Arts Management Advisory Group
SAMAG is a not-for-profit organisation which was formed by a number of arts professionals in the early 1990s to provide a forum to:
Create awareness, sensitivity, knowledge and skills required of Directors and Managers of arts organisations through the presentation of seminars by arts and business people

Ensure the seminar topics cover a broad range, including metropolitan and rural issues and areas of interest

Create a forum where arts practitioners and managers can meet, share information and network.
SAMAG's aim is to provide a forum for discussion and to raise awareness of current arts issues. At the same time, SAMAG provides professional development for arts managers to improve their knowledge and skills. This is achieved through the presentation of monthly seminars, a year-long program that address topics and issues of interest to arts and cultural workers, largely provided on a voluntary basis.
