Metro Street is a brilliant new musical by one of Australia's brightest young talents and stars legends of the Australian stage, Debra Byrne and Nancye Hayes along with Cameron Goodall and Verity Hunt-Ballard.

Arts Asia Pacific co-produced the world premiere production at the Dunstan Playhouse in Adelaide on April 3, 2009 with Power Arts and The State Theatre Company of South Australia.

SYNOPSIS

Sometimes life is worth making a song and dance about.

At the best and worst of times families are touching, challenging and ultimately hilarious. If reality television has shown us anything it's that one group of people should never be locked in one house for too long without escaping to breathe, at least between commercial breaks.

Metro Street exposes the reality of three generations bound by blood and stretched by a modern world that insists on changing daily. With a fresh, contemporary score and instantly recognisable characters, Metro Street will have you feeling at home within moments and leave you heading towards your own home revitalised and deeply moved.
