Arts Asia Pacific provided the Company Management for The Phantom of the Opera for The Really Useful Company Asia Pacific since the commencement of the Asian Tour in Shangahi in 2004. After the Hong Kong season which concluded in August 2006 these services have been scaled back. Arts Asia Pacific will remain involved in the Company Management, in a reduced capacity, for the final season of the Asian Tour of The Phantom of the Opera which will commence in Singapore on March 28, 2007 through the provision of the Deputy Company Manager. Following the season in Singapore, a major Australian tour will commcence in Melbourne in July 2007 for which Arts Asia Pacific will continue to provide the Deputy Company Manager.

The Asian Tour of The Phantom of the Opera is a large and complex project with approximately 85 people in the touring company along with many others for the load-in and load-out periods. The touring company is made up of individuals from Australia, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States, Sweden, Korea and Costa Rica and this variety add to the complexity tour.

The role of the Company Management on a tour of this scale is varied and ranges from the responsibility of all matters related to the day to day management of the touring company and crew to acting as the producer’s representative in discussions with the local producing partners.

The Asian Tour of The Phantom of the Opera has encompassed the following destinations::

  • Shanghai, China - The Shanghai Grand Theatre
  • Seoul, Korea - Seoul Arts Centre
  • Taipei, Taiwan - The National Chiang Kai-Shek Cultural Center
  • Hong Kong, PRC - Hong Kong Cultural Centre

The final destination is Singapore where the production will play at the Esplanade Theatres on the Bay.
