Arts Asia Pacific provided Deputy Company Management for the pre-production
and first half of the Melbourne season of The Phantom of the Opera for The
Really Useful Company Asia Pacific, which was the initial season in the
Australian tour of The Phantom of the Opera.
This tour of The Phantom of the Opera was a large and complex project with
approximately 85 people in the touring company, approximately 30 specialist
crew for the load-in and load-out periods as well as approximately 40 local
crew. The touring company was made up of cast, crew and musicians from
Australia and New Zealand.
The Deputy Company Management services that Arts Asia Pacific provided
covered a broad spectrum of responsibility. This included, day to day
liaison with all touring cast, crew and musicians, all travel,
accommodation, ground transport and associated logistics for the touring
company and visiting management personnel, liaison with cast for attendance
at sponsorship functions for the production and the liaison with cast for
the media calls and public relations for the production.
Arts Asia Pacific provided the services of the Deputy Company Manager from
June to October 2007. The Melbourne season of The Phantom of the Opera took
place at the Princess Theatre from July 2007 to January 2008.
